Friday Ollie Bloggging: Cat Tastrophe
That’s Ollie. One thing after another…. the other day he ran into the screen door while chasing a bug. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cat scrape his face before….

He is a daredevil – will leap from anything to anywhere, no matter if it’s the top of the steps over the side, or if he’s playing and jumping
straight up after something. I really am surprised that he hasn’t hurt himself more. Yes, he does have that bend in his tail – Hub (a western fan) has nicknamed him Broken Tail…. (sigh)
Linked with the Modulator, because it’s been a while…

Ow, that looks like it hurt!
Saw Feakhenge. You had me tearing up. I’m positive you’ll make it beautiful. He’ll only ever send you good vibes from the Rainbow Bridge.
Hi, I’m Lily, the blogbean of Adventures in Cat Philanthropy, where this Carnival of the Cats is being held. Your blog is stupendous.

Aw, but look at that face? How could anyone resist?
As for the screen door incident, it’s possible Ollie may be nearsighted. Many cats are. My cat is, for sure.
The generally can’t see screens, or must of anything up close, and they have only limited color vision. Their eyes are fine tuned for movement, so he would have no problem focusing on and tracking the bug, but once in hunting mode, everything else would be blocked out.
Cat’s whiskers are supposed to be used to tell them how big an opening they need to pass through, but some cats don’t “listen” to their whiskers any more than they listen to their “staff”.
Did he at least get the bug?
He gets lots of bugs, but I don’t think he got this one, it was outside….lol… I wish he’d get the mosquito that just bit me.
He actually climbed up the screen using just his back feet (no front claws) the other day. Talk about weird!!
