Being in the rain capital of New England (for this week, anyway), I’ve gotten to see all the news programs there are in existence. No TCM, just news. Good thing Bug brought his Monty Python videos, or we’d be nuts.

I have never been much of an Ed Shultz fan, but since he’s gotten his TV show, I’m on board. He has said it better than I could hope to. The man has Stones.

The whole point is – WHY are 40 Republicans able to do this to the Democrats???? Aren’t we supposed to be in charge here? WTF?? Why can they not get Kennedy’s or Byrd’s proxy? And WHEN is Al Franken going to be allowed in???? WHY can’t BO get something done with that shite?

Now, for those of you who think this is all going to work out and we’ll all be happy happy joy joy, think again. Remember, we are talking about Corporate Amurrika here, they ARE still in charge. And if you think that CorpAmurk is going to let you keep your current plans if they can get Government Insurance cheaper, you’ve got yet another thought coming to ya. BO even backtracked last night, and said “you can keep your DOCTOR” when someone confronted him with this.

You can watch your bosses decide to pay for your Government Insurance, that’s what you can do. And the Government Insurance will NOT be as good as what the Congresscritters get, you can bet on that. And of course, then, Obama will Tax those health benefits. I am sure the union PTB are pulling their hair out…..

Universal Health Care is the only way to take the power out of the insurance companies hands. Not to mention that whatever the problem – health care, banks, economy, education, autism services, yadda yadda – insurance companies have their fingers in the pie. Hell, they are up to their proverbial shoulders in the damn things. There’s no six degrees of separation – there’s one at most. Why are we allowing these companies to ruin run everything, and into the ground, at that?? Better yet, why is OBAMA letting them do it? AHEM – Didn’t we elect “CHANGE”???

There is a lot more trickle-down to this non-universal insurance crap than the administration would have you believe. Act 62 goes into effect here in PA on July 1. It is taking away behavioral health benefits from children with Asperger’s. No, they didn’t say that’s what they were doing…..and it may not have been what they meant for it to do – or at least, the state reps and senators were stupid enough to believe it. But that’s what 62 is doing. And then, of course, the guy who wrote it now works for the insurance companies….

What is happening is that the providers are not signing up with insurance companies because basically they are being told by these insurance companies that they will not be reimbursed anything close to what they were. Therefore, they will not be able to operate. When the CCIU doesn’t sign up for something, you KNOW that it is fishy. They are state-of-the art as far as intervention goes, much less in ANY state in this country. So far NO behavioral health providers in Chester County have signed up with ANY insurance company.

The behavioral support providers are barely making it now – I know plenty of these workers – my son’s BSC works 50-60 hours a week and they want him to lose 70% of his income. Not only that, but people will lose their benefits, and they just won’t know. I am lucky to be involved with groups online, but was not able to attend meetings in the area because I had to work. The DPW is supposed to be letting parents know, but I have been trying to contact them for four months and NO ONE returns my calls. My next step is to meet with my state rep and squeal on ALL of them.

In any case, if no providers sign up, then kids like Bug who have Asperger’s and who don’t have any other issues (i.e. schizophrenia, or medical issues such as cerebral palsy) will not be able to get their services paid for. So they won’t get any services. Yeah, I guess that’s CHANGE of a sort. F that change. Talk about a boulder in the path of life….and the insurance companies win again.

Obama has already been accused of being Bush Jr. many times over. I am still waiting for him to get some stones. So far the only thing resembling minerals are the marbles that were falling out of his mouth last night. And maybe there are a few rocks in his head, too.
