Friday Cat Bloggging: Ollie’s New Bed
For some reason, Ollie was dragging Pippin’s bed out of his crate into the middle of the kitchen. He wasn’t sleeping in it, he was just doing it. He was also into that fruit box for several weeks, and it had become dilapidated and an eyesore. Well, it was an eyesore anyway.
So I decided to run to PetsMart/PetSmart to see if I could find something better.
He still drags Pooch’s bed out on occasion, but only if he’s trying to tell us something….anyone having any ideas what that might be, please enlighten me!
Gonna link to the Ark, in case someone there knows, too…?!

It looks like Ollie needed the XXL version, except that cats don’t like catbeds or boxes with room in them.
As for Pippin’s bed, he may be trying to mark over Pippin’s odor. If he rubs his cheeks on it, that’s what’s going on. Of course, as a cat, Ollie could just be “Gaslighting” you, they do that a lot.
My Kitty’s new obsession is the Tsingtao beer box that we got from the Chinese place. He’s been obsessed for two weeks, where he generally loses interest in boxes (and paper bags) after three days or so, after he covers them with his scent and just generally tears them up. We think the latest box has some odd smell that’s driving him nuts. It’s fun to watch Kitty get all schizo over it.
Bryan, the bed came with a 3′ thick pillow, which he did Not want. It was just not deep enough with it in there, anyway. He’s happy sleeping in the bottom with no padding. Better him than me! I am not sure about the marking, he just drags it with his teeth, lol.
I bet there is something that smells like catnip in the cardboard….if it’s Chinese, you never know, they might make the boxes out of plants….i.e. catnip…or they were stored where there were lots of mice…
