Shulers, Dolingers, and Various Other Relatives!

This is a photo of my mom (Anne, the baby) and her three sisters (l-r: Nina, Ola and Ruby), and two of her six brothers. I think (but I'm not sure) the boy on the left in the back is her brother Bill, and the one on the right is Sherman.

Supposedly we have a Native American (a Cherokee) grandmother. She is Aruna Hart, of the "Old Ned" Sizemore legend. Looking at Mom's sisters, I'd say there's a good chance there's a Cherokee in there somewhere! You can read more about Aruna and "Old Ned" here...

These photos were my mother's, and most were unmarked. There are photos of many people I don't know. I am putting them here so I can share them with all the relatives. If someone is alive, and doesn't want their picture here (or if you want me to remove your name) please let me know!! I will be glad to do that.

My mother was the youngest of 10 children, and she had us beginning at the age of 35, so we were the youngest of all the grandchildren, too, averaging 10 years younger than all our other first cousins. My oldest first cousin was 30 years older than me!!! I only know where three people are from her side of the family now. After my mom died, the rest of her family just never contacted us again.

Here are my grandparents, Cebert Wiley Shuler and Margaret Elizabeth Dolinger Shuler. Isn't she the perfect description of the word "Grandma?" They were both dead by the time I was five, so I didn't know them at all, really.

I think this is a photo of them when they were younger. Can anyone tell me if I'm right? If so, the
baby is their oldest son, Roy.

I thought this was a boy....until I saw the next photo....



It's my MOM....on the photo above, it says "Mother Me Sis" (Sis is Aunt Ola).

I am really glad I did NOT get those ears (see 1st photo)!!!! ;)



This photo says "Minnie McCarter, Chas McCarter, Wiley Shuler" on the back.
Although which man is which, I don't know. I think Wiley is on the right. (Wiley = my grandfather)
